DCE MobileControl Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DeCamp Electric, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the DCE MobileControl mobile application (the “App”). The App lets authorized users monitor and control industrial equipment (Allen-Bradley PLCs) operated by our customers.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact details: your first name, last name, and phone number, entered during onboarding. These identify you to the equipment owner and are attached to control actions you perform.
- Connection credentials: when you scan a QR code to add a system, the App stores the credentials needed to connect to that customer’s equipment so the App can display data and send commands you initiate.
Information collected automatically
- Device identifier: the App generates a random installation ID (a UUID) to distinguish your installation from other users at the same site.
- Push notification token: a token provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver alarm and status notifications to your device.
Camera
The App uses your device camera solely to scan QR codes when adding a system. Camera images are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted.
The App does not collect your location, does not contain advertising, and does not use third-party analytics or tracking.
How We Use Information
- To connect the App to the equipment you are authorized to monitor and control.
- To display live data and to carry out control actions you initiate.
- To send you alarm, status, and related notifications.
- To attribute control actions to a user for safety and auditing purposes.
- To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the App and our services.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): we send your push token and notification content to Google’s messaging service to deliver notifications to your device.
- Our servers and the equipment owner: your name, phone number, and the actions you take are processed by our backend systems and are visible to the operator of the equipment you are connected to.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate operational, safety, and legal purposes. You can remove a connected system from within the App, and you may request deletion of your information by contacting us.
Security
Connections between the App and our services are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your Choices
- Notifications: you can disable notifications in your device settings, or mute/snooze alarms within the App.
- Your information: you can edit your name and phone number, and remove added systems, from within the App.
- Uninstalling: removing the App stops further data collection from your device.
Children
The App is intended for use by adults in a professional/agricultural context and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
